My name is Lauren and I'm the proud owner and operator of this small, Cape Cod-based business where craftsmanship meets sustainability.

I grew up here on the Cape and now raise my two silly, wonderful boys in the same beautiful community. I love this work because it allows me to care for my children while they're young and support my fellow Cape Codders in caring for their homes—and our shared environment—with thoughtfulness and intention for the future.

After returning to Cape Cod in 2023, I felt called to create a business that combined my creative passions with my commitment to sustainability and family life. With a background in Interior Design, Woodworking and Furniture Design, and years of experience in Costume Production for film and television, I realized I had a unique skillset perfectly suited to upholstery and custom home decor.

Along the way, I became increasingly disheartened by the fast-furniture industry—how cheaply made pieces are designed to be disposable, filling landfills instead of lasting for generations. The craftsmanship and materials simply don’t compare to what was made in the past. I knew I wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem.

To strengthen my foundation as a small business owner, I also completed the EforAll Cape Cod business accelerator program. Green Choice Upholstery grew from this intersection of hands-on skill, design sensibility, and a deep desire to offer a better alternative—one that honors the past, serves the present, and protects the future. What started as a personal endeavor has grown into a meaningful way to serve my community, breathe new life into well-loved pieces, and support a more thoughtful, sustainable Cape Cod.
